ISO 50001 Certification - Our expertise for your energy management
The DIN EN ISO 50001 standard was published in June 2011. After revision, ISO 50001:2018 was published on August 21, 2018. The transition period ends on August 20, 2021, by which time full conversion to ISO 50001:2018 must be complete. It has a High Level Structure (HLS) and is based on the ISO 9001 quality standard as well as the ISO 14001 environmental standard. This allows organizations to transfer their previous energy and environmental oversight strategies into a structured energy management system:
- Development of a company policy for the more efficient use of energy
- Determination of characteristic values
- Data analysis of energy consumption in all essential consumption areas
- Measurement of results
- Continuous monitoring of action measures
Steps to ISO 50001 Certification
1. Information and pre-audit (optional)
Information meeting (by telephone or in person), project meeting on site and preparation for certification, incl. document check
2. On-site certification

4.Certificate and Seal
After successfully completing the certification process, you will receive your certificate and the DEKRA Seal (with a maximum term of three years)
5.First surveillance audit
A surveillance audit of the practical implementation is conducted every 12 months
6.Second surveillance audit
Repeated auditing of the practical implementation of the management system
7. Recertification
Three years after initial certification, steps 2-6 are repeated in the recertification audit
